तनोट माता मंदिर

तनोट माता मंदिर भारत के पश्चिमी राज्य राजस्थान के जैसलमेर जिले में स्थित है।

• माँ आवड़, जो ममजी चरण (गढ़वी) की पुत्री थी, तनोट माता के रूप में पूजनीय हैं और कर्णी माता की पूर्ववर्ती थीं। क्षेत्र की अन्य देवियों जैसे तेम्डे राय, कर्णी माता, देग राय और खोड़ीयार आदि की तरह, वह भी चारण जाति में पैदा हुई थीं और उन्होंने अपना जीवन योद्धा ऋषि के रूप में बिताया।
• सबसे प्राचीन चारण साहित्य के अनुसार, तनोट माता दिव्य देवी हिंगलाज माता का अवतार हैं और इस प्रकार युद्ध की देवी हैं।
• यह गाँव पाकिस्तान के साथ सीमा के करीब है, और 1971 के भारत-पाकिस्तान युद्ध के लोंगेवाला युद्ध स्थल के बहुत करीब है। समकालीन लोककथाएँ युद्ध के परिणाम के लिए मंदिर को श्रेय देती हैं। पर्यटक इस मंदिर से आगे भारत-पाकिस्तान सीमा देखने नहीं जा सकते हैं, जब तक कि वे जिला और सैन्य अधिकारियों से पहले से संबंधित दस्तावेज प्राप्त नहीं कर लेते। अब यह भारत में राजस्थान का एक पर्यटन स्थल बन गया है। ऐसा कहा जाता है कि इस क्षेत्र में तेल और गैस भंडार हैं।

Tanot Mata is a temple in the western state of India in District Jaisalmer of Rajasthan.Goddess Aavad, the daughter of Mamadji Charan (Gadhvi), is worshiped as Tanot Mata and was predecessor of Karni Mata. As many other Goddesses of the region such as Temde Rai, Karni Mata, Deg Rai and Khodiyar etc. she was also born in Charan caste and lived her life as warrior sage. As per the oldest Charan literature, Tanot Mata is an incarnation of divine Goddess Hinglaj Mata and thus is a Goddess of War. The village is close to the border with Pakistan, and is very close to the battle site of Longewala of the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. Contemporary folklore credits the temple for the outcome of the battle. Tourists cannot go beyond this temple to see the Indo–Pak Border unless one gets the relevant documentation in advance from the District and Military Authorities. It is now a tourist destination at Rajasthan in India. The area is said to have oil and gas reserves.
