रामगढ़िया बंगा: स्वर्ण मंदिर की रक्षा करने वाला प्रतीक

अमृतसर के स्वर्ण मंदिर के दक्षिण-पूर्वी किनारे पर स्थित तीन मंजिला लाल पत्थर के टावरों के समूह को रामगढ़िया बंगा या बुर्ज के नाम से जाना जाता है। ये दो ऊँचे मिनारेनुमा रामगढ़िया बंगा टावर हरमंदिर साहिब सरोवर (जल टैंक) के चारों ओर के परिक्रमा (परिक्रमा पथ) से दिखाई देते हैं। ये संरचनाएं महाराजा रणजीत सिंह के शासनकाल से पहले, 18वीं शताब्दी के अंत में, सिख योद्धा और रामगढ़िया मिसल के सरदार जस्सा सिंह रामगढ़िया द्वारा बनाई गई थीं।

यह संरचना 1762 में अहमद शाह अब्दाली के नेतृत्व में अफगान मुस्लिम सेना द्वारा सिख धार्मिक स्थल और मंदिर को नष्ट करने और अपवित्र करने के बाद बनाई गई थी। बंगा टावरों से जुड़े बुनियादी ढांचे का निर्माण किसी भी आश्चर्यजनक हमले के लिए चौकीदारों को तैनात करने, क्षेत्र को मजबूत करने में सहायता करने के लिए सैनिकों को रखने और पवित्र परिसर को अपवित्रता से बचाने के लिए किया गया था।

रामगढ़िया बंगा में दिल्ली के लाल किले से तख्त-ए-तौस का ग्रेनाइट स्लैब है, जिस पर, मौखिक परंपरा के अनुसार, सभी मुगल सम्राटों का दिल्ली में राज्याभिषेक हुआ था। सिखों ने मुगल सेनाओं पर हमले के दौरान दिल्ली से इस स्लैब को जब्त कर लिया था और इसे अमृतसर लाया था, जो एक प्रतीक था कि मुगल साम्राज्य का अंत उनके राज्याभिषेक पत्थर को हटाने के साथ हो जाएगा।

Ramgarhia Bunga or Burj is the three-storeyed red stone watchtowers complex located near southeastern edge of the Golden Temple, Amritsar. The two minaret-style Ramgarhia Bunga high towers are visible from the parikrama (circumambulation) walkway around the Harmandir Sahib Sarovar. It is a pre-Ranjit Singh structure built by Sikh warrior and Ramgarhia misl chief Jassa Singh Ramgarhia in late 18th-century, after the 1762 destruction and desecration of the Sikh holy temple and site by the Afghan Muslim forces led by Ahmed Shah Abdali. The Bunga watchtowers-related infrastructure was constructed to station sentinels to watch for any surprise attack, house soldiers to help fortify the area, and to protect the holy complex from desecration.
